Penstemon calycosus, or Calico Beardtongue, is native to Midwestern and Northeastern US, with also some entry into the Central US. It is a perennial that grows in open woods, along woodland edges, in open prairies, meadows and savananas and other similar areas. It blooms in mid to late spring into early summer with light purple flowers.
