Ranunculus fascicularis, or Early Buttercup, is native to the eastern half of the US, except Florida, but it is most prominent in the Central US. It is a perennial that grows in dry, rocky partially shaded woods and along woodland edges and in open prairies and meadows. It blooms in early to mid spring with bright yellow flowers.
