Ignatius Jacob Stachak was born in Polanka Wielka, Poland, on July 23, 1873.

Polanka Wielka is located in southern Poland, in Oświęcim County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship.

                                                                   

Ignatius came to the United States some time during the 1890s, and married Pauline Bialecki in Toledo, Ohio, in 1898.  She died in a tragic stove fire in 1905, at which time, Ignatius remarried to Martha Jankowski several months later.


At this time, it is known that Ignatius and Pauline  had the following 4 children:

Agnes Stachak (15 January 1899 - 20 April 1939) married (1) Jan Najbar, (2) William McInnes
Michael Stachak (8 September 1900 - 9 November 1900)
Alvin John Stachak (1 March 1902 - 26 July 1963)
Raymond Anthony Stachak (26 May 1904 - 19 November 1954)

Ignatius then had the following 6 children with Martha:

Mary Magdalena Stachak (7 July 1907 - 19 October 1948) married Joseph Dusseau
Hedwig Martha (Hattie) Stachak (26 August 1908 - 5 December 1993) married Ross Burgard
Stanley Joseph Stachak (13 November 1909 - 23 January 1958)
Wallace Joseph Stachak (26 June 1911 - 10 January 1980)
Florence Agnes Stachak (17 December 1917 - 31 August 2003) married Casimir Walentowski
Adam Stachak (? - ?)
