Anemone cylindrica, or candle anemone, is native to the eastern, central and midwestern United States, where it grows in dry prairies and fields. It is very similar in appearance to Anemone virginiana (Tall Anemone), but the former has long, cylinder shaped seedheads, and the latter has rounder, wider seedheads.
In our yard, this grows in the Prairie.
