Clintonia borealis, or bluebead lily, is native to the northeastern quarter of the United States, as well part of the upper southeast. It grows in moist, peaty duff in deep shade, as well as deciduous forests and bog edges, where acidic soil and adequate moisture and shade are present.

In our yard, this grows in the Moist Conifer Area.
