Cornus canadensis, or bunchberry, is native to the northern half of the United States, as well as New Mexico and Colorado. It grows in moist areas, with heavy shade and acidic soil, like bogs, wetland edges and moist deciduous or especially pine forests; it can occasionally be found in drier soil, also.
In our yard, this grows in the Moist Conifer Area.
