Draba verna, or whitlow grass, grows in the eastern and western United States, but is absent from central and southwestern states. There is some debate as to whether this plant is native to North America, or introduced from Europe; for our purposes we consider it a native, thought the debate is unclear, there are other native Draba species. It grows in disturbed areas, yards and other waste areas.

In our yard, this grows in the Prairie.
