Cornus unalaschkensis, or western bunchberry, is native to Alaska, California, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. It grows in moist areas, with less shade than its eastern counterpart Cornus canadensis. It prefers acidic soil, growing in bogs, wetland edges and moist deciduous or especially pine forests; it can occasionally be found in drier soil, also.

In our yard, this grows in the Moist Conifer Area.
